Evidence on influence. Perspective on progress.Independent · Source-linked · AI-assisted research

About this publication

Who shapes AI—and what progress makes possible.

AI's future is shaped by more than technical breakthroughs. Public narratives, institutions, law, electricity, and local decisions help determine what can be built and who benefits.

Our primary mission

Make attempts to influence AI's public debate visible and understandable. Follow adversarial messaging, public advocacy, government priorities, and the records behind infrastructure decisions.

Our second question

What is worth making possible? We examine scientific tools, healthier lives, resilient systems, and broader access to useful capabilities—while keeping demonstrated results separate from ambition.

Evidence-led and pro-progress

We are interested in the positive possibilities of useful AI. That does not require endorsing every company, project, or policy. Claims from supporters and critics deserve the same scrutiny.

What this first collection covers

Selected US-focused influence and infrastructure records, qualified international attributions, and benefits with a clear evidence stage. The public-opinion section presents selected original polls and comparable waves; we do not conduct our own polling or claim to aggregate every survey. It is not a global activity ranking.

Ownership and independence

This is an independently initiated project, not a publication of X, OpenAI, or any other organization covered here. Research is AI-assisted. No advertisements or sponsored placements are included in this first edition. Organizations' own interests remain relevant when evaluating their reports.
